  • Communicating Effectively about Climate Change

In November, 2018, a two-day National Science Foundation-funded workshop on Climate Change Litigation, Science and Informal Science Education brought together diverse communities at GWU MISPH to generate approaches to magnifying understanding of climate change lawsuits. This workshop resulted in collaborations across these fields of climate change science, law, informal science education, and the media.

Master's student, Julia Weil, developed a narrative outline of lawsuits about prisoners illegally left unprotected from heat wave conditions and how those risks may be exacerbated by climate change. These kinds of climate impact lawsuits were discovered in our original research about climate change litigation.
